CONVERSATION - THE WAY TO COMMUNITY
HOW WE TALK
Together, let us look at how
we can improve the growth of conversation in your group, whether it be a church
or a civic group. The process can be implemented for your organization with
minimal input and little maintenance work on your part after implementation.
We will use the same tools I use at our church. The only thing your folks will
need to do is to work with me in gathering the data for implementation, and understand
the use of HOWWETALK, which will require a bit of reading, a training
presentation, or a few other methods.
WHAT DO WE HAVE TO DO TO GET THIS STARTED?
1 - You actually do not need to have any knowledge or concept of how the internals of email work,
but for the record, the following is what will happen.
Except for the identification of the "members" in HOWWETALK, I will do all the setup
and maintenance required.
2 - HOWWETALK is built on a common email structure, hence there needs to be
a domain/URL, with email support, available or purchased.
Maybe you have a
domain (web site) as "CentralChurch.org" - or you purchase one, as
"OurPlace.com"
I will help and counsel in determining the appropriate domain along with a competent person in your group, if available.
3 - All participants must
have an email address supported by any vendor anywhere in the world
A secondary benefit is that you never need to know the actual address of a recipient - although you may do so.
Another, more important benefit, is that if a person changes their true email address, it is transparent here.
4 - You will define participants in HOWWETALK
As all members of a church
5 - We will determine how you would like the 'common member name' to be structured
If Joseph George Smith is better as "Joe Smith" - he could be structured as
"joe.smith" or "joesmith" or "joe_smith" - also see the reference in the FAQ page on multiple names.
6 - Essentially the total of all members define a "group" we will name "allofus" or
"everybody" or a name of your choice -
however there can be participants that are not included in the base group - see the FAQ on members that may not be included in the this 'group'
7 - You may choose to define select sets of members to be in a smaller group - there can be as many small
groups as you need
As "Staff" or Teachers"
Following is a sample of a very small system made up of eight individuals and two small groups

Now we can send messages to individuals or groups of people anytime we want.
They can reply to the sender or all who received the communication wherever they are.
